Between the vineyards, the olive trees, the lavender and sunflower fields of the Gard Provençal in the south-east, the mountains and small mountain villages of the Cévennes in the west and the gorges and caves of the Ardèche in the north, you can find the small Renaissance town of Barjac.
Barjac is the capital of the district of Barjac, which is a well-known touristic area with some 1500 residents. Here tourists can find all sort of facilities : restaurants, groceries, a super market, bakeries and butcher's shops, a biological shop, hairdressers, medical practices, a dentist, and so on. There's also an important market every Friday morning.
About 0.6 mile away from the centre of Barjac, located in the upper part of an old olive orchard of about 1 ¼ acres, you can find our house “Mira ! - les Oliviers”, which is built in a Mediterranean style. From here, one will have a fantastic view over the valley of the Cèze with the Cévennes beyond. At a distance of about 32 miles, you can distinguish the Mont Lozère (5574 ft) in the distance.
“Mira ! - les Oliviers” is situated in one of the regions of France which has the most annual hours of sunshine. Because of its beautiful landscape and the fact that this region is not as overcrowded by tourists as the Ardèche, this might be one of the reasons to spend your holiday with us.
